O que dizem sobre nós...

Pena's twelve windmills provide a journey to ancient times when artisanal milling was crucial in the region, accompanied by a sublime landscape setting.
The economic benefit of the milling activity allowed those who dedicated themselves to it to improve their lives. The historical origin of the mills' activity is difficult to determine, due to their antiquity. However, it is known that they operated until 1965.
After a community initiative program, in 1992, seven units were recovered to function as tourist accommodation.

The structure was inherited and for a few years I didn't know how to use it, until I decided to move forward with the tourism project about five years ago. In the small mill it was possible to build a bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. Initially, without any advertising, he was able to rent.

“A lot of people came from Lisbon”, he says, who noticed the presence of the space and contacted to rent it. However, it already had international clients, including from Australia.
